知之为知之，不知为不知，是知也。

今译：
知道就说知道，不知道就承认不知道，这就是对待知道或不知道的正确态度。
英译：
When you know a thing, to hold that you know it; and when you do not know a thing, to allow that you do not know it ---this is the right attitude towards knowledge.
解析：
对于文化知识和其他社会知识，人们应当虚心，刻苦地学习，尽可能多加地加以掌握。但人的知识再丰富，总有不懂的问题。那么，就应当有实事求是的态度。只有这样，才能学到更多的知识。
